Sumaqkay is a quechua word
that means “quality and beauty” Paracas
is a peruvian natural reserve known for its biodiversity, and is the
place where our workshop, show room and store are located on
route to the ancient and misterious Nazca lines. We are also near the
inca ruins of Tambo Colorado that date back to the 15th century.
Surrounded by citrus , grapes and asparragus plantations, our artisans,
men and women, alternate their labor in the fields with their creative
artistic work in our workshop.
As an enterprise, we aim to recover the rich peruvian artisan tradition
and give it a new sense, by providing our artisans with support and
training. In this manner we help them to preserve ancient textile
traditions and reinforce their identity. |
